Wali’s self-developed twin-shaft shredders have completed production and been successfully shipped to Bolivia.

The project consists of two twin-shaft shredder lines, purpose-built for processing local waste tires, plastica, and cardboard. The shredded material will be supplied directly to a cement plant as alternative fuel.

Project Background: How Does Waste Turn into "Energy"?

In cement production, fuel costs account for a significant portion of expenses. Traditional coal-fired solutions are not only costly but also face increasing carbon emission pressures. Waste tires, plastica, and similar materials have a calorific value close to or even comparable to coal, and can serve as alternative fuel for cement kilns after proper pretreatment.

The combustion temperature in cement kilns exceeds 1450°C, capable of completely decomposing hazardous substances. Steel wire from shredded tires, after oxidation and melting at high temperatures, can directly participate in the clinker sintering reaction, reducing the need for additional iron-bearing raw materials. Di conseguenza, pretreating industrial waste and supplying it to cement plants is becoming an increasingly popular choice among overseas customers.

The Bolivian customer’s need is based on this very logic: local stockpiles of tires, plastica, and cardboard waste are growing, while cement plants urgently need to cut fuel costs.

The two-stage twin-shaft shredder lines provided by Wali serve as the perfect bridge betweenwaste” E “fuel.

Soluzione: Two-Stage Twin-Shaft Shredding for Consistent Output

The project adopts a two-stage series configuration of twin-shaft shredders to ensure output particle size meets the cement plant’s feed requirements.

The twin-shaft shredder features a shear-type design, with cutters on two counter-rotating shafts delivering powerful shearing, tearing, and squeezing forces. Le caratteristiche chiave includono:

+ Low-speed, high-torque drive: Equipped with heavy-duty planetary gear reducers, operating at low speed with high torque – easily handling tires, plastic drums, thick cardboard, and other difficult-to-shred materials, with low noise and excellent energy efficiency.

+ Alloy steel cutters for durability: Rotating cutters are forged from high-strength alloy steel and hardened through heat treatment for long service life.

+ PLC intelligent control system: Standard PLC auto-control with overload auto-reverse protection – automatically reverses to clear jams in case of blockage or motor overload, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous production.

The two-stage series design provides enhanced particle size control – primary shredding for coarse reduction, secondary shredding for fine refinement – ensuring the final output fully meets the cement plant’s calciner feed specifications.
